Dear Esteemed Members of IIM,

Namaste and warm greetings to each one of you.

I am deeply honored and humbled to assume the role of the President of The Indian Institute of Metals (IIM) for the year 2025–26. I am deeply grateful for the trust all of you have placed in me, and I look forward to working collaboratively with each one of you to further strengthen foundation and outreach of our Institute, which is going to celebrate 80 years of its existence next year.
As we move forward, I firmly believe in carrying forth the rich legacy of the IIM while actively advancing its vision and mission. In today's rapidly evolving technological landscape, the role of metals and materials science is more crucial than ever serving as the backbone of industrial development, academic innovation, and national progress. In this growth path, there is a significant role younger generation can play, and with this intention, in the 2025-26 Council slate, we ensure that 30% of the members are younger than 50 years. .........
